Add Your Insurance Agency to the Directory

If your insurance agency, brokerage or agent office has a public US business address and is missing from Riskado, you can send its details with the form on this page, and adding a listing is free. You'll need the agency's name, full address, phone number and type, your name and email, and its website if it has one. We check each request by hand against the agency's public business details before adding it, then reply by email. Sending a request does not guarantee a listing or a reply by a set date. A listing is not an endorsement, and Riskado is an independent information site and directory, not an insurer, agency or broker.

Who can be listed

The directory lists insurance agencies, brokers and agent offices with a public business address in the United States. Insurer call centers and lead sellers are not directory listings, because a listing points people to an office they can contact or visit.

What to have ready

Gather these before you start:

  • The agency name customers know you by
  • The street address of the office, with town or city, state and ZIP code
  • The main agency phone number
  • The agency website, if there is one (this field is optional)
  • The type of agency: independent agency, captive office, broker or other
  • Your name and an email address where we can reach you

Use the address where the office actually operates. Google requires a full, accurate address when a business serves customers at its location, and it allows only one profile per business because duplicates can mislead customers (Google Business Profile Help (opens in a new tab)). An email address at the agency's own domain makes the hand check simple, so use one when you can.

Which agency name to use

Use the name on your sign, website and business materials, as long as your agency is approved to use it for insurance business in your state. An insurance producer doing business under a name other than its legal name must notify the insurance commissioner before using the assumed name, under Section 10 of the NAIC Producer Licensing Model Act (opens in a new tab). Each state adopts and changes the model in its own way.

California shows how specific a state can be. Licensees there file their true legal name and any fictitious names, and an approved DBA must be used exclusively when soliciting, transacting and negotiating insurance, advertising included, according to the California Department of Insurance business entity FAQ (opens in a new tab).

A captive office should send the approved office or agency name it uses in public, rather than an individual agent's name, unless the agent's name is that approved business name. Rules differ by state, and your state insurance department (opens in a new tab) can confirm which names you may use. This is general information, not legal advice.

Send your agency

Fill in the form below with the agency's public details, your name and your email, and choose the type of agency that fits best. Every field is required except the website.

Send your agency details

Open the agency in Google Maps, press Share, and copy the link.

We use a phone number only to reply to this request, never for marketing calls or texts. How we handle what you send: privacy policy.

What happens after you send it

A confirmation appears on the page once the details are sent. A person at Riskado then compares them with the agency's public business details, such as the address and phone number on its website, before adding anything to the directory. We reply to the email address you gave.

Changing a listing after a move or name change

If your agency already appears in the agency directory and the details are out of date, claim your listing instead of sending a new one. A claimed listing is free, and it lets you correct the agency name, address, phone and website, which we re-check before they go live. Correcting the existing entry keeps a moved or renamed office from showing up twice.

Free listing or a paid plan

A free listing is all you need to appear in the directory. Once your agency is listed and claimed, it can add one photo and its own short description at no charge. Two optional paid plans add presentation and placement, with no contracts and the option to cancel anytime:

  • Pro, $39 a month or $390 a year: up to 15 photos, a longer description with services and an FAQ, a Pro label, a place ahead of unclaimed listings in ties, a Message this agency form that goes to the agency email, monthly views and clicks, and no other agencies shown on your own listing.
  • Sponsored, $79 a month (founding rate) or $790 a year per category and town page, with at most two per page, always labelled Sponsored.

Paid plans buy presentation and placement, never reviews, badges, credentials or trust. To arrange one, use the contact form and choose the topic for a Pro or Sponsored directory plan. Full details are on the plans and pricing page.

Questions about adding an agency

A few situations come up before an agency sends its details.

Can a captive office be listed?

Yes, if it has a public US business address, the same as any other agency office. Send the approved office name it uses in public and pick "Captive office" as the type of agency.

Why do you ask for my name and email?

They tell us who sent the request and where to send our reply about it. The privacy policy explains how we handle what you send.

Does a listing say anything about an agency's license?

A listing shows an agency's public business details; it is not a license check, an endorsement or a statement about which carriers the agency represents. Anyone can confirm a license with their state insurance department (opens in a new tab).

Already listed?

Search the agency directory before you send the form. If your agency is there, the claim your listing page is the way to keep its details current.
